A poorly calibrated pool probe can indicate that the water is too acidic or too alkaline when it really isn't, causing you to run your regulator unnecessarily. If your pool is over-calibrated, it may appear cloudy or green, which can be very off-putting for swimmers. Worse still, the water will feel hard to the touch. This can also cause calcium scaling of surfaces and equipment, which can reduce the lifespan of the equipment.
